Commentary

This active servo speaker system combines a compact two way speaker system with a YST-type subwoofer.

Yamaha's own YST sub-woofer is used for ultra-low frequencies, enabling powerful low sound reproduction.
Two 20-cm cone type woofers with sprue scones are used in the unit to improve orientation while obtaining sufficient sound pressure. In addition, the port section has a high-quality design with smooth surface material and edge-free shape.

In order to make effective use of YST method, a 120W power amplifier is installed.
This amplifier is basically the same as the YST-SW1000, and the high cut can be fixed to simplify the circuit and improve the quality.

A 16 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm of this unit uses a white sheet cone similar to the NS-10M with uniform density and thickness, and is a curved type with an emphasis on the mid-range.

A 3-cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
The diaphragm uses a titanium-base, beryllium vapor-deposited material. It has a frameless structure in which the vibration system is mounted directly to the magnetic circuit and mounted directly to the cabinet. The voice coil and vibration plate are integrally molded. Moreover, the copper-clad aluminum ribbon wire is edgewise wound. This reduces the weight of the vibration system and eliminates unnecessary vibration.
In addition, the net is stopped by dumping.

Alnico magnets are used for the magnetic circuits of the woofer and tweeter, and ferrite magnets are used for the sub-woofer unit to obtain strong sound.

The front baffle of the enclosure has an in-line center configuration with all units mounted vertically, and further improves orientation and sound reproduction by a round baffle to minimize sound diffraction and by minimizing baffle area.
In addition, 26 mm thick high-density particleboards are used for the enclosure to increase the strength of the shape itself and increase the rigidity by using reinforcing materials in each part. The exterior is made of beautiful sounding birch.
In addition, the 2-way section has a slanted shape to prevent the occurrence of internal standing waves. In addition, a thin sound absorbing material with different material for each frequency prevents the occurrence of standing waves.

The 2 waves have a speaker input terminal and the subwoofer has a speaker input terminal and a pin input terminal.
The pre-main amplifier and power amplifier are connected by wiring to the speaker input terminal, and the amplifier with pre-out such as control amplifier has a structure in which the woofer section is connected to the pin input, and the 2-way section is connected from the power amplifier to the speaker input terminal.
