YAMAHA YP-D51

Commentary
A record player with almost the same configuration as the YP-D71, employing FG servo for servo mechanism and omitting auto-stop mechanism.
The newly developed high-torque, coreless, slotless DC Hall motor is used for the motor. This minimizes cocking and provides strong torque.
Adopts FG servo system with fast response speed to cope with sudden load fluctuation.
The frequency detector, which is a problem in the FG servo system, uses a magnet pattern and coil arranged around the whole circumference of the motor to detect the frequency. This makes it less susceptible to eccentricity and pitch error of the pattern, enabling more precise and stable control.
The turntable is made of cast aluminum of 1.8 kg.
By adopting 4-point full gimbal support system for the tone arm, the initial motion sensitivity of 7 mg for both horizontal and vertical motion is achieved.
In addition, a long type aluminum arm is adopted for the body of the arm.
A zinc die-cast base is adopted for the arm base.
This arm base has a wide contact area with the cabinet and is strongly fixed at four points. A zinc die-cast bracket supporting the gimbal support is fixed to the protruding 27 φ cylindrical base shaft with a tight lock screw.
The base shaft has a height adjustment with a ± 4 mm scale, and is compatible with various commercially available cartridges.
Uses a lightweight and highly rigid head shell.
This head shell is an uncoated shell made by molding a pure aluminum block with a high-pressure hydraulic press machine, and vibration is reduced by integrally molding the finger hook.
A 6 φ NEGLEX2496 low impedance double cylindrical cable is used.
3-layer particleboard is used for the cabinet.
In addition, a double damping type insulator is adopted to effectively block and absorb external vibration.
