Commentary
This full-size MD recorder was developed aiming at the best matching with the CDX 993.
ATRAC-IC with a built-in 24-bit precision DSP is used for the audio compression part, and 128 times oversampling 20-bit ⊿ Σ method is used for the D/A converter.
Super bit allocation (SBA) technology optimizes the signal compression algorithm to achieve more natural sound quality.
A current buffer output circuit with extremely low output impedance is used for the output stage of the audio section to obtain stable drive performance regardless of the input impedance of the connected amplifier.
In addition, in order to eliminate mutual interference between analog and digital circuits, measures against digital noise are taken, such as thorough separation layout of each section, thick board patterns of analog circuits to prevent transmission loss, thin design patterns of digital circuits to minimize noise emission, and minimization of digital circuit boards themselves.
It is equipped with an A-B erase function that can erase a part of the music, a timeless cue recording less cue recording which can start recording by tracing back to the sound of 4 seconds ago, and an UNDO function which can cancel editing work done just before.
It is also equipped with synchronized functions such as music synchronized recording, which automatically starts recording when a music signal is detected, and synchronized recording by remote control in combination with Yamaha CD player.
It is equipped with a sampling rate converter capable of digital audio of BS/CS tuner and digital direct recording from DAT.
It is equipped with a free recordable area (FRA) function that automatically keeps the original recordable time of the disc even if overwriting recording, erasing between A and B, erasing, etc. are repeated.
