Commentary
This DSP AV amplifier is compatible with Dolby digital and capable of 5.1 channel playback.
Equipped with the YSS 245 f as a key device for sound field processing.
The YSS140-F has built-in functions required for Yamaha's original cinema DSP processing, and realizes a Dolby Digital Prologic Decoder and a hard DSP sound field processing in one chip for the YSS140-F. 245.
As a result, 5.1 channels of Dolby digital signals can be fully decoded with 24-bit high precision, and combined with a 3-field cinema DSP LSI, it realizes realistic theater sound.
The Yamaha Sound Field Program has 13 programs.
Sound field data exclusively for Dolby Digital is used for Enhanced and Movie Theater, sound field programs for Dolby Digital, drawing out the potential of Dolby Digital.
The amplifier section contains a 5-channel discrete amplifier of the same design.
The DSP-R992 supports 4 Ω speaker drives for all channels.
Built-in FM/AM tuner.
The tuner is equipped with preset functions for 40 stations, auto-preset functions for FM stations, and edit functions for preset stations.
It is equipped with eight input terminals. The DVD/LD has digital input coaxial with the optical system and the TV/DBS has digital input coaxial with the optical system.
In addition, S terminals of input Line 5 and output Route 3 are mounted.
The Rec out selector on the front panel allows smooth recording without changing the connection on the rear panel.
It also has a built-in BGV function that combines AV source video with audio from other audio sources.
Room 2 out terminal is mounted.
The audio / video signal of the device selected by the Rec out selector is output and a second TV, etc. can be connected.
There are 2 color variations of titanium color and gold.
On-screen capability.
* The output of on-screen signal is output to both composite / S video if there is no input to composite / S video. Also, if there is input to composite and there is input to S video, it is output only to composite output.
If both composite and S-image have input, S-image output will be used.
By using the separately sold APD-1, it is possible to play 5.1 channels with a Dolby digital compatible LD player.
A learning remote a learning remote controller that allows you to select the sound field and adjust various parameters.
This remote control is pre-set with Yamaha's centralized operation control function and is equipped with a macro function that allows multiple operations to be performed by pressing a single key.
