Commentary
D-VHS recorder with HDMI terminal.
Equipped with an HDM output terminal, digital HDTV video signals can be transmitted to compatible displays without DA conversion. In addition to video signals, digital audio signals such as 2 ch PCM and 5.1 ch streams can also be output.
Digital Hi-Vision video can be recorded on D-VHS tape as MPEG-2 TS, analog broadcasting can be recorded on D-VHS, and analog recording can be done in S-VHS/VHS format.
Equipped with S-VHS ET function, S-VHS recording to VHS HG tape is possible.
The D-VHS offers three recording modes : HS mode (28.2 Mbps), which allows four hour recording with high picture quality and high sound quality, STD mode (14.1 Mbps), which allows approximately eight hour recording, and LS3 mode (4.7 Mbps), which allows up to 24 hours recording.
Analog video recording uses three dimensional Y/C separation circuits, input TBCs, frame synchronizer, and motion-active noise reduction.
Progressive output of VHS and S-VHS sources is possible.
It is possible to play back D-Theater, a package software using D-VHS.
Playback is limited to software with Region2 or All Region indication.
Wireless remote control is included.
