Commentary
Shell-integrated MM type cartridge using TTDD.
It uses the Technics Temperature Defence Damper (TTDD) developed by Technics Co., Ltd., which has improved temperature dependency to about 1/3 compared with the commonly used butyl rubber. Moreover, it has excellent viscoelasticity and is a damper material with excellent cantilever support performance. As a result, there is almost no change in sound quality or deterioration in tracing performance due to temperature changes in the room.
The cantilever (TiN) tapered pipe is used for the cantilever.
HPF is used for all magnetic circuits.
It uses a one point suspension system. A disk-shaped magnet is placed at the base of the cantilever, and it is attached to the support pipe with a suspension wire through the same disk-shaped damper.
As a result, the supporting point is clearly located just behind the magnet, preventing the occurrence of cross-modulation distortion due to the back-and-forth change of the cantilever and the degradation of high-frequency characteristics due to the increase of equivalent mass seen from the needle tip.
