Commentary
This speaker system uses the LE8T, a long-selling full-range unit of JBL.
The unit uses LE8T, a 20 cm cone type full-range speaker.
The diaphragm is made of specially manufactured cone paper and sprayed with a special white damping material to achieve optimum rigidity and mass. The center dome uses a 0. 05-mm-thick center dome made of duralumin and is attached directly to the voice coil bobbin to extend high-frequency characteristics.
The magnetic circuit uses a 3 kg Alnico V magnet. The pot type magnetic circuit with a large mass and low reluctance concentrates the total magnetic force on the top plate. The pole piece is made of high-carbon steel. The voice coil uses an edge-wise voice coil made of ribbon-shaped aluminum wire.
An aluminum die-cast frame is used for the frame.
The enclosure was originally created by Sunsui, and it is designed as a grid grill combining woodworking technology.
Hard homogen is used for the plate material, and the grating of the grill is made of cypress lattice.
The exterior is finished with a walnut oil finish.
