Commentary
A record player with a belt drive system that follows the design of the SR 525 and SR 323.
A 4-pole synchronous drive motor drives a 300 mm diameter aluminum die-cast turntable with stable rotation. A zinc alloy die-cast housing with an outer diameter of 52 mm and ultra-precision bearings is used for the bearing part.
In order to obtain accurate rotation over a long period of time, the motor suspension part, power switch, and speed switching part are integrated into a unit sub-chassis to improve mechanical strength.
The tone arm part uses a static balanced S-shaped tone arm with two point pivot support system to suppress the partial resonance of the arm which adversely affects the sound quality. In addition, the arm base part uses zinc alloy die-cast to increase the strength. In addition, the pipe interior and weight shaft are designed to prevent resonance.
Uses SV-41A, a MM type cartridge.
The cabinet is a 12 mm thick board cabinet with large mass and high internal loss as well as the SR-525 and SR-323.
In addition, the legs are equipped with insulators to reduce direct vibration from the floor.
