Commentary
This stereo cassette deck inherits CT 910 technology.
A 3-head system has been adopted for the head section, and by pursuing both recording and playback characteristics, sound quality that cannot be obtained with a 2-head system using a dual-head recording / reproducing head has been obtained.
A combination head using Sendust alloy is used for the recording head and reproducing head, and the parallelism of the gap is kept constant by packaging it in a case with high precision, and there is no worry of azimuth shift and crosstalk.
The mechanism hole uses a closed loop dual capstan system with two capstans to keep good head touch and prevent level fluctuation and drop-out.
The drive section uses a 2-motor system, with an electronically controlled DC motor with a built-in generator for constant speed operation and a DC high torque motor for fast forward operation.
Equipped with an ATLC mechanism that instantly removes tape slack when the cassette half is mounted.
Equipped with an FL level meter, it covers a wide range of -20 to + 8 dB, and it is easy to confirm by displaying two colors : blue for less than 0 dB and orange for more than 0 dB.
This FL level meter can be switched between an average meter, which responds to the same level as a normal VU meter, and a peak meter, which has a fast attack time, enabling reliable level monitoring for a wide range of sources.
Equipped with bias adjustment mechanism, recording utilizing characteristics of the tape is possible.
Uses a soft push type direct change operation button.
The operation buttons can be preset and can be linked with the timer to record your absence or play an alarm.
It uses a full open loading system, making it possible to mount the tape securely. It also makes it easy to check the tape running condition and label, and to perform maintenance of the head.
Also equipped with a dust protector to protect the head housing.
Equipped with a monitor switch, you can monitor by listening to and comparing the sound of the source and tape during recording.
Equipped with a CrO2 position automatic switching mechanism.
Also, STD and Fe-Cr tapes can be manually switched.
The Dolby System is installed as a noise reduction system.
