Step-up transformer for MC cartridge.
A large EI core step-up transformer developed in-house is used for the transformer.
Like the T-1, this transformer consists of a large EI core, the largest in its class, made of 78% super-permalloy core material 0.2 mm thick, and wound with low-loss extra-thick copper side and 0.12 Φ on the secondary side of low-loss extra-thick copper wires. 0.32
As a result, a low-frequency linearity of -6dB and a high-efficiency step-up of 50% compared to conventional ones, equivalent to the T-1, have been realized.
The specially divided winding structure provides broadband and excellent phase characteristics, reduces phase distortion within the audible band, and makes sound localization clearer.
The step-up transformer is supported by foam polyethylene foam to prevent external vibration from propagating to the internal step-up transformer, and the casing is filled with foam polyethylene foam to prevent unnecessary cavity resonance and improve sound quality.
The chassis base is 1.0 mm and the cover is 1.6 mm thick steel plate. It is painted on top of copper plating.
It is assembled with non-magnetic screws made of stainless steel to minimize the effect of magnetostriction.
