Commentary
LE series 36 cm cone type woofer unit.
LE14H is a newly developed SFG (Symmetrical Field Geometry) with the magnetic circuit of LE14A.
In the SFG magnetic circuit, the magnetic field between the top plate and pole piece is completely symmetrical, and the second harmonic distortion is greatly reduced compared with the conventional magnetic circuit. Combined with the low distortion of ferrite, the SFG magnetic circuit realizes a lower distortion factor than the Alnico V magnetic circuit.
In addition, a high-conductivity ring called a Faraday loop is attached to the bottom of the pole piece to stabilize the mutual magnetic flux in the structure without affecting the coil impedance, thereby reducing the second harmonic distortion induced there.
The LE-H series uses ferrite magnets in the magnetic circuit, especially the LE14H uses cone paper coated with white damping material on the diaphragm.
The voice coil uses a 10.2 cm diameter copper ribbon edgewise wound voice coil.
LE14H was used for L222A.
