Commentary

A Kusu Timas A 3D speaker system combining woofer and satellite speakers.

The base module uses the Kusu timmass method. Low-frequency playback is left to the woofer section, and middle and high-frequency playback is performed by satellite speakers.
This makes it possible to reduce the size and improve the low-frequency range, while allowing more freedom in layout.


Satellite speaker

The satellite speakers incorporate the direct lifting theory to reproduce the ideal acoustic energy diffusion of a concert hall in a home.
This system consists of two vertically stacked units. In order to control the balance between indirect and direct sound, the two upper and lower satellite speakers are designed to be able to rotate independently to the left and right. By changing the orientation of the upper and lower speakers, the breadth and depth of the sound field can be adjusted.

The unit contains two 6 cm cone type full-range speakers.
By strengthening the magnetic circuit, this unit not only extends the low-frequency range but also enhances the medium - and low-frequency reproduction capability.
In addition, this unit has a magnetic shielding design with backing magnet and shield cover.

The enclosure baffle and the speaker basket are integrated to increase speaker rigidity and minimize distortion and air leakage.


Base Module

The base module adopts Bose's unique Kusu timus system.
In the general system, the woofer uses direct sound from the cone paper, while in the Kusu timmass system, the air itself in the port is output as vibration energy to reproduce low sound.
The inside is a 3-chamber system divided into 3 rooms. A woofer unit is installed between rooms A and B. The ports with different tuning frequencies installed in rooms A and B are connected to room C, and vibration energy is transmitted through the port of room C and radiated.
In this system, the high-frequency distortion generated from the cone paper of the speaker is cut off with a filter made by air in the chamber and port. In addition, in the 3-chamber system, a flat and high-efficient bass sound is realized over a wider band by applying a secondary filter by the C port to the acoustic energy of A and B. In addition, the low-end and high-end low-frequency characteristics are cut off sharply, and the leakage in the middle and high-frequency range is greatly reduced. This eliminates the sense of direction of the sound source and makes the powerful bass sound audible as if it were emitted from the satellite speaker.

The unit is equipped with 2 13 cm cone type woofer.
Although this unit has a 13 cm aperture, it is a long excursion type that can take a large amplitude, improving frequency characteristics and sensitivity and reducing distortion factor.
