FM/AM tuner equipped with a function for FM air check.

It is equipped with an FM low-noise recording and playback method that uses the low-noise sound wave receiving method of FM broadcasting as it is.
In this method, the pre-emphasis signal is recorded as it is, and by de-emphasis during playback, not only FM noise but also tape hissing can be reduced.
Conventional recording and playback is also possible by switching the switch.

With a built-in pink noise generator, accurate recording level can be set by using this signal as a guide.

The front-end section has an RF amplification stage using a 4-pole MOS FET and a single or multiple tuning circuit to realize an excellent interference rejection capability. The local oscillator circuit has a configuration with less frequency deviation by using Technics original design methods such as an oscillation coil with an aluminum core and high-frequency low-noise transistor.

A locked tuning circuit is built in to compensate for slight tuning deviation and to realize accurate reception.

The MPX stereo demodulation circuit has an IC configuration consisting of a PLL that can supply a stable switching signal and a double-differential switching circuit for improved separation.
In addition, an excellent low-pass filter with a phase delay characteristic of 5.5 μ S at 15 kHz is used to achieve faithful waveform transmission and flat frequency characteristics with less waviness.
