Commentary

FM/AM tuner incorporating a new mechanism based on ST 3600 technology.

Equipped with a distortion null meter.
This meter shows the minimum point of distortion only when it comes to the perfect tuning point, regardless of whether the input is large or small. The tuning point can be easily selected simply by searching for the point where the deflection of the needle is maximum.

Equipped with a multi-path meter that allows you to select the optimum antenna direction.
When the selector switch is set to Multi-Path, the distortion null meter becomes a multi-path meter so that the optimum direction of the antenna can be found by observing the deflection of the meter.

Four 2-element ceramic filters and eight LC filters are used in the IF stage, and eight stage amplification including a differential limiter is used.

In order to further improve accuracy, temperature characteristics, and high-frequency current path, all related parts have been renewed, and a new 4-series variable capacitor (7-series variable capacitor for AM use) has been developed and adopted.

The FM front end is an RF2-stage amplifier circuit using two 4-pole MOS FETs.
In addition to the high input impedance, the 4-pole configuration reduces harmful feedback and provides a stable high gain.

A zener diode is used for the FM station output circuit to stabilize the power supply voltage.

Uses a muting circuit that uses 2 LC filters.

Equipped with FM MPX OUT terminal, 4-channel decoder can be connected.

The AM section uses a 3-row varicon with RF amplification.
