  • Two way system using digital in-phase linear system

    A system that applies digital signal processing technology to a multi-way system.
    Linear sound pressure frequency characteristics and phase frequency characteristics phase frequency characteristics that cannot be achieved with conventional analog signal processing technology.

    This speaker system is a 2-way system developed as an example of its application.

    This large-scale system was put into NHK Hall in Shibuya Ward in the year when the DS 251 mkII was released.

    It consists of three sets of systems consisting of four low-frequency horns of 200 cm, two skorkers and ten tweeters.

    Weighing about one ton per set, with a maximum output sound pressure level of 130dB/m and efficiency of 40%, it is a large speaker with a power equivalent to 10,000 W in a home speaker system.

    (announced in October 1976)



    This is the first prototype of a magnetic recorder using a fixed head type PCM system.
    It uses 1/4-inch wide magnetic tape, and the mechanism is simplified by adopting 38cm/s deck.

    This deck uses a crystal oscillator to control the wow and flutter to the accuracy of a crystal oscillator.
    It also simplifies tape editing and tape monitoring.

    By combining the rotary head mechanism with PCM processing technology for audio, PCM sound can be enjoyed easily. Moreover, the deck is designed to be able to handle PCM sound as well as ordinary audio cassette decks.
    It was published in the same period as 4S-4002P (Monitor-1).
