DS-53DII
Commentary

A bookshelf speaker system that uses an ω - titanium S diaphragm.

A 27 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm of this unit is made of paper pulp impregnated with a special resin. This realizes high rigidity while taking advantage of the large internal loss of paper. In addition, the diaphragm is made more rigid by radial corrugation reinforced at the periphery, thereby expanding the playback bandwidth.

The mid-range is equipped with a 10 cm cone type squaker.
The diaphragm uses Diatone's unique CFP cone. This material is reinforced by adding highly rigid carbon fiber to olefin resin with high internal loss. The material is injection-molded using our unique molding technology to achieve a thickness of 0.2 mm. In addition, the inner circumference of the diaphragm, which requires particularly high strength as a medium - to long-range diaphragm, is thick. The diaphragm with high rigidity and excellent uniformity is achieved by aligning the carbon fiber radially.
In addition, the center cap material of the Skoka uses ω - titanium S which is also used in the tweeter, and the high frequency characteristics are improved by combining with the tangential edge.

A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter using ω - titanium S vibration plate is mounted in the high frequency range.
Ω - Titanium S is developed from ω - titanium, which has a high specific elastic modulus and moderate internal loss. By applying a new curing process, the specific elastic modulus has been improved by 35% compared to conventional titanium.
In addition, the tweeter adopts a D. U. D structure in which the diaphragm and voice coil bobbin are integrated. By transmitting the driving energy generated in the voice coil to the diaphragm without loss, response to input signals is greatly improved. In addition, linearity and peak input resistance against input signals are greatly improved by improving heat radiation hardening.

In order to reduce distortion of network circuits, materials have been studied.
In the DS-53DII, the crimping wiring method using OFC with low DC resistance is adopted.

A level control is provided for the middle and high frequency ranges. This level control uses a circuit configuration that enables direct connection at 0 points.

The enclosure is a distributed resonance type enclosure.
