Commentary
An active equalizer was developed to improve the acoustic characteristics of listening rooms.
Developed for professional use, the 9860A is equipped with 26 active filters with sharp shoulder characteristics and a narrow bandwidth of 1/3 octave.

A generator generates pink noise, a microphone calibrated at the listening point picks up the sound coming through the sound system, including the Acosta Voicing, and adjusts the Acosta Voicing while reading it with a frequency analyzer (8050A). This provides excellent response..jpg)
As shown in Fig. 1, feedback from the peak of acoustic characteristics causes howling, so the acoustic gain in the shaded area is removed.
In Fig. 2, electrical compensation is applied by Acostar Voicing. The response shown by the dotted line is obtained and the acoustic gain is large.
